This picture was mailed to my husband and me. We were only married 6 months. Billy was 12 years old. The youngest in the family. He became my little brother right from the start.

Billy was at his brother Joe's house almost every weekend. On this weekend he was visiting his first niece, Sandra, she was 4 1/2 months old.

Billy had to join the Marines, his 3 older brothers, Bob Hook, Joe Hook Jr. and Terry Hook were all Marines. Here he is with his parents, Joe Hook Sr. and Catheleen Hook at Weir Cook Airport to fly to Camp Pendleton, California.

Billy's brother Terry was also in Nam. It was a very sad day when the news came of Billy's death. He was killed at the Battle of Hue.
