In memory of our mother, sister, aunt, grandma and friend, Betty Baker.Betty grew up in Brightwood, Indiana, the fourth of seven children born to William and Georgia Davis on august 30, 1922.She married for the first time at an early age to Jerry's father, Johnny Culley, and briefly moved to Arizona. She moved back to Indiana and divorced Johnny. Shortly after World War II, she met and married Linda and Bruce's father, Frank Baker (the love of her life). They moved to California and lived there for a brief time. Frank preceded her death in 1970.After meeting and working with Hal Austin, they married in 1975 and divorced several years later.Betty was a free spirit that was always being teased by her friends and family of being a kleptomaniac. She would go home from any gathering with every ones lighters in her purse! She loved chocolate Tclairs, made the world's best cobbler, loved to stay up late at night, play cards and dance. She could make you laugh hysterically and not even know why you were laughing in the first place! When she was younger, she did the jitterbug and cartwheels on 30th Street in front of the North East Community Center. In her later years, she worked as a manager at Crestwood Village and loved her job there. When she wasn't working, she would 'hang out' with the Golden Girls (Ginn and Ethel) during the day at Eastgate Mall and have dinner out most evenings with them. You would always see them together. They were sisters and the best of friends.Betty will be loved and missed by all of us who knew her and are blessed to have been in her life.
