Vernon "Shane" Goodpaster

Vernon "Shane" Goodpaster 32, Indianapolis, died December 12, 2004. He was born in Indianapolis on February 1, 1972 to Vernon and Wanda (Taylor) Goodpaster. He attended Warren Central High School, and spent three summers at Culver Military Academy. Shane was a locksmith by trade and owned and operated Hoosier Lock and Service. He also operated G&G Plumbing, but is best known by his recent tattoo shop, Skin Deep. He enjoyed drag racing and was a member of the National Racing Association. He is survived by his mother, Wanda; daughter, Violet "Paige" Goodpaster; aunts: Clara Thompson, Patsy Collins, and Billie Grimes; uncles: Bennie, Harold, Bobby and Garland Taylor; Lee Edwards and Charlie Thompson; and numerous close cousins. Visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 17, from 2 to 9 pm at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center at Washington Park East. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Washington Park East Community Life Center with additional calling hours there from 11 to 1 p.m. prior to service.
