Vera Skiles Parsons

Vera A. Skiles Parsons, 80, Greenwood, died June 8, 2003. She was born May 27, 1923 in Cloverdale, IN. Mrs. Parsons had worked in customer service 13 years for L.S. Ayres & Co. and 11 years at Wal Mart, retiring in 2001. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 13 in G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 12. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. She was the widow of Fred E. Parsons. Survivors include her sons, Richard E., Thomas E. and James R. Parsons; daughter Anne L. Youngblood; brother Dorrell V. Skiles; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
