Ruth L. Boxell Shelley

Ruth Lavonne Boxell Shelley, 76, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2004. Born December 13, 1927 in Marion, IN. She was the daughter of the late Glen and Cleoda Ruth Sprinkle Boxell. She was married to the late Robert Lavonne Shelley for 35 years. Mrs. Shelley graduated from Marion High School and Indiana University with a degree in chemistry. She was a member of Meadlawn Christian Church and was a member of D.A.R. Mrs Shelley combined her interests in genealogy with her love of travel and was fortunate enough to conduct research and pleasure trips both here and abroad. She is survived by her sons; Lawrence B. (Ruth), Kenneth A. (Donna), and William R. (Karol) and daughter Carol J. (Roger) Hinderliter; grandchildren, Ben, Luke, Sarah, Sarah, Brian, Jake, Molly, Alex; great grandson Levi; sisters, Marietta Showalter, Glenna Bishop and Mary Welge. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 28 in Legacy Funeral Alternatives Memorial Park, Indianapolis. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
