Robert "Bob" Eugene Ping, Sr. 68, Indianapolis, died February 12, 2004 in Ft. Myers, FL. He was born in January 31, 1936 in Bloomington. He was a prominent business man and previous owner of the Irvington Plaza Newsstand. He had also owned the Keystone Deli. He was a member of the Maple Creek Country Club, and loved to play golf. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Feb. 18 at Hendryx Mortuary, E. Washington St. Chapel, 11636 E. Washington St., with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 17. Bob was preceded in death by his sister Lois Keller and brother, Richard Ping. Survivors include his fiance' Barbara Lowe; son Robert E. (Donna) Ping, Jr. of Indpls.; daughters, Sandy (Jim) McNichols of Indpls. and Susie (Marty) Smith of Florida; brother Roy Ping of Indpls.; 3 granddaughters; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
