Robert Ray Helfer

"Our Bobby", as my parents had put on his tombstone, finally gave my parents a son. He was adopted when he was only three years old.Bobby looked like he belonged in the family because he had blue eyes, light hair and freckles across his nose. Mom was a freckled red head and I had freckles across my nose as a child, also.God only gave us two years of good times with Bobby and then God took Bobby with him. He was only five years old when he died. He had been sick for just a couple of days and because he began running a high fever, my parents took him to Community Hospital. He died there the next morning. all the joy that had come into our lives with his addition to our family had been taken from us.
