Pfc Christopher E. Hudson

Christopher was born October 9, 1982. Early in Christopher's life we knew he was a gifted child. He loved to draw, especially dinosaurs. When he brought home his first ISTEP test Chris was in the top 2% in the country! He taught himself how to speed-read. Soon enough when Christopher was going to Warren Central High School, the system proved to be inadequate for the truly gifted students. Not keeping Christopher's attention he and a couple friends from his gifted classes, decided not to continue to excel in the later school years, and received a GED with honors instead. Christopher loved to play video games, especially at Putt-Putt, beating every game he played. The tougher the challenge, the better he liked it. He loved the White Sox, pineapple orange faygo, and he loved martial arts. Then came the age of ICP, Korn, Metallica, and Limp Biscuit. How he loved the music and the concerts. Christopher suddenly put everything in high gear. It was as if he had to experience life as quickly as he could. He met Michelle on December 4, 1998 and they were married on January 1, 2000. And later had children Veronika on June 2, 2001 and Gavin on May 10, 2003. Christopher took a job working at Old Country Buffet where everyone became his friend. He went from there to O'Malia's Food Market where he got into doing the maintenance department. He thrived on the physical challenge. But soon enough he realized that long range plans in these jobs were limited. Filled with love, Christopher thought deep down that when it comes to helping others he had to do what he could to help those people in need. He showed us to follow our hearts, even if the result may end in death. Christopher had so much pride when he joined the service November5, 2002. He always talked about how he could try and make things different. That with his faith and hope someday he would change the world, making it a better and safer place for us and our children to live. His long-term goal was to become a general and retire from the service. After being in the service for a year and half the time came that he had to go over to Iraq and face the war on terrorism (Iraq Freedom). Christopher was a true American hero. Over in Iraq his humvee was hit in three different attacks. The first two they survived, with Christopher pulling two unit members that were hurt, off the humvee. The third attack however, the humvee was hit by and IED (time bomb) and Christopher was hit and killed from the shrapnel. Christopher was a loving husband, father, and family member. He is a true hero and will never be forgotten. We must keep him in our hearts and minds. He will be loved and missed for al eternity. We love you Christopher, rest in peace.
