Patricia H. Breitwieser

February 19, 1935 — August 3, 2002

Pat, Patty, Mom, Momma and Grandma were just a few of the names she was called by friends and family. She loved and was devoted to her family that included a husband, three boys, two daughters, eight grandchildren and one great grandson. In past years, before she lost her eyesight, grandma wrote letters to her grandchildren. These letters were stories that included words and stickers that took the place of words so even if the grandchild could not read; they could enjoy them through grandma's picture stories.Patty loved to garden and had a beautiful garden covering most of her back yard. Her garden had many roses, lilies, hostas, ferns, including a multitude of annuals and perennials. She was in her garden everyday that she could get outside. Patricia would be planting, weeding, and feeding and paid little heed to the weather or the fact she was blind. When Pat wasn't in her garden she could be found listening to audio books, of which she had many. She loved to travel everywhere and was a superb cook who loved cooking for her family. Pat was happiest when her whole family was around her for many of the holidays during the year and she dearly enjoyed all of the commotion this created.Patricia was a devoted Episcopalian who loved her church. She had been active in the Daughters of the American Revolution, Girl Scouts, and Parents Teachers Organization. Patty was a past master at organizing car pools for her five children when they participated in a variety of activities such as swimming, baseball, hockey, tennis, cheer leading and Jobs Daughters. Pat and John enjoyed playing bridge and spent many hours with friends in this endeavor. She enjoyed symphony orchestra concerts, the theater, all museums, and art exhibits.Patty is greatly missed by all who knew her because of the love that she showed everyone and the devotion she had for her family.
