Mildred Juanita Young Rebennack

Mildren Juanita Young Rebennack, born 3-18-1928 in Montgomery, Alabama, 1 of 7 children of John & Mildred Showers Young. She was 9 years old when her dad died. She attended school #21 in Indianapolis. She loved to write poems and songs from childhood to adult. She met Theodore Rebennack at Stewart & Warner. November 23, 1946, they married. He was in Navy 1942 - 1946. They had 5 children, Richard, Carol, Dale, Roger, and Russell. 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Mildred learned to drive at age 38, but never drove on the freeway. 1967 she worked for Naval Avionics and became the first Lady Electroplater Journeyman. July, 1985, she lost Ted to an asthmatic heart. 1990 she retired and became active in the Indianapolis Senior Center, singing in their senior band, also in the Golden Shepherd Band. She did genealogy and is in D.H.R. She is 2nd cousin to H.S.T. Loved her family & U.S.A. She was a life long Democrat. Went to 1993 inauguration in D.C.
