Mary Catherine Rankin Gilday

Mary Catherine Gilday, Indianapolis, Indiana, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002 after a long illness that included end stage renal failure, diabetes and a stroke she suffered in 1996. She was 71.Mary's parents, Catherine Ryan and Peter Rankin came to Indianapolis in the 1920's from Tipperary, Ireland. They were married on November 28, 1929 in Indianapolis.Mary was born February 16, 1931 and attended Holy Cross, Cathedral and St. Joan of Arc grade schools and graduated in 1945. Mary attended St. Agnes High School and graduated in 1949.Mary was a homemaker.Mary was a lifelong Catholic. She enjoyed Irish music, gardening, dancing, traveling, boating and spending time with her family.Survivors include her husband, Jack of Indianapolis, a son, James Kevin of Indianapolis, 2 daughters, Maureen Bond of Indianapolis and Ann Lundy of Kansas City and four grandchildren, Caitlin Bond, William Bond, Kevin Bond and Grace Mary Lundy.
