Madelyn Golden Church

Madelyn Golden Church was born in Salem, VA on November 11, 1916 and migrated to West Virginia where she started her family with Ivan Sovine and had 2 children. In 1951 she was married to Charles R. Church and they had 2 additional daughters. Her professional career was a registered nurse where she practiced private duties in private homes. Survivors include 6 children, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. On December 22, 2003 God saw her getting tired, and a cure was not to be, thus he put his arms around her and whispered, 'Come to me'. With tearful eyes, we watched her pass away, and although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating and God broke our hearts to prove to us that he only takes the 'best'. To the living she is gone, to the sorrowful she will never return. To the angry she was cheated, but to the happy, she is at peace, and to the faithful, she has never left. She cannot speak, but she can listen, she cannot be seen, but can be heard. As you stand gazing at the beautiful sea to look upon a flower and admire its' simplicity, she would say, 'Remember me'. Remember her in your hearts, your thoughts and your memories with her that you loved, cried, fought and laughed, for if you always think of her, she will never have gone. We must not grieve for her, for now she is free to follow the path God laid for her. Her life was full, as she savored good times with her family and friends. A kiss, and loved one touch, and she has left us with the sunshine of tomorrow. We shall lift up our hearts in that God needed her now and has set her free.
