Our arms and hearts are so empty without youWe hope you are nor lonely or cold or afraidNever feel lonely or afraid, because your mommy and daddy are always here for you.We hope you are now in the arms of our grandparents and others who have passed from our family and friendsWe know that whatever place you are now in, if it is called heaven, the afterlife,know that it is now a better place because you are thereSince you left us, we've been looking backward and remembering all of your daysRemembering your calls to us as you awoke in the morning and missing them very much. And remembering watching you sleep in your crib with a foot or hand hanging outside the rails.Remembering your many faces, looks, and sayings and your soft little voice, which lately was not always so softWe've also been looking forward and wondering when you would have reached that next milestone:Eating more by mouth, talking in more sentences, dressing yourself, drawing circles, asking for a friend to come play, seeing your face as we entered Disney World and seeing your face at the sight of your new room, seeing you open presents on your 3rd Christmas and your 3rd birthday, and having you become a big sister some day, and most of all we miss that we won't be able to see you each day and that we will never get to enjoy you as a 3 year old, four-year old and thereafter. But, we are so happy we got to know you as a baby, a one-year old and two-year old. We have any wonderful memories of your 34 months. We are so happy we were given the opportunity and privilege of being your parents for that time. We are most happy that you were given the opportunity to know nothing but happiness and to have a good quality of life for those 34 months.Our Maddie, Our Cookie, you know that we will always look backward and forward and remember how you were and wonder what you would have become.For the rest of our lives we will look backward and rememberFor the rest of our lives we will look forward and wonder.But, rather than just looking forward and backward,We now can also look upward.We love you Cookie and we miss you and every little thing about you very much.
