Lyla Haze Bullington 82, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 23, 2004. She was born June 15, 1922 in Barren County, Glasgow, Kentucky, daughter to the late Herbert and Ellen Woodcock Wheeler. She was saved in her younger years and joined the Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Bullington was a charter member of Ritter Avenue Baptist Church since 1965. Her husband J.C. Bullington, who she married January 3, 1942, survives her. From this marriage 11 children were born: Louise, Jimmy, Norma, Bill, Fannie, Arcy, David, Ronnie, Sammy and Lisa, John and Rick. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren out of the 62 years of marriage. Mrs. Bullington is also survived by her sister Jewell; daughter, Shirley; and one grandchild. Sisters Myrtle, Marie, Olla, Inis and a brother, Beul, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be conducted from Flanner Buchanan Funeral Center Washington Park East on Friday, August 27, 2004 at 1 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral center Thursday, August 26, from 3 to 8 p.m. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
