When we say or think the word Lillie, sometimes we think of the flower. In some respects Lillie was like a flower. Just as a flower opens its petals to let in the sunshine, she opens up her heart to all of us. And just like a flower, Lillie had all the beauty in the world, for she was truly a beautiful person. Her beauty lay in her heart. A heart that loved and cared for all. Lillie was never one to complain, even in her final days she would always ask how we were feeling and even though she had her share of sorrow in life she always managed a smile for us.Lillie was a woman of character. Her southern drawl would make you smile; yet make you appreciate the simplicity of her life. This is not to say Lillie was a simple woman, it is meant to tell a story of the everyday life of a caring person with no worldly goods to give. But give she did in ways that really matter. She gave from within. The goodness in her heart, the warmth of her smile, and the undying love for her family was her legacy and I believe that truly shows what character really is.
