Julie Ann Burkett Morris

Julie was a very vivacious person, so fun to be around. She made everyone smile and enjoy life. She never knew a stranger and was always ready to help anyone who was down. She grew up in Indianapolis, IN with her Mom, Dad and sister Lynn. Unlike most of her friends she never moved, always living in the same house and same school district. Making friends and doing well in school always came easy to her. She would work after school and in the summer and saved enough to buy her own car. Which she was very proud of. Her favorite jobs were baby sitting and being a lifeguard in the summer. She would love to party, but her favorite times were fishing with her father, vacationing every summer at Shakamac State Park and traveling to fun places with her family. The hikes in the Appalachian Mountains and Smoky Mountains along with the beaches of Florida would become some of her favorite places. After graduating from Lawrence North High School she moved to Terre Haute. There she met her husband Charles Wayne Morris. They were married on the beach at the Grande Lido in Negril, Jamaica December 12, 2001. She would continue her education in Terre Haute while holding professional sales position with the River Radio and Tribune-Star. Graduating from Ivy Tech in 1998 with an Associate Degree in business administration. She also received an accounting certificate in 1998 and an Account Executive Certificate in 2000 from Radio Advertising Bureau in Irving, Texas. She would excel at most everything she did. On October 8, 2002 she gave birth to her first child, Kaylynn Joanna and would have her second on January 17, 2004, Zoey Lee. Her children would mean the world to her. Making it hard to return to her profession. But she was stronger than she thought and was able to be a great mother and continue her career. After an afternoon of 4 wheeling with family she would die at the young age of 29, in a drowning accident in the flooded waters of the Wabash River in Terre Haute. A tragic accident no one will ever be able to understand. A lifeguard that had saved several children over the years would be taken from us.
