Jerry Watson

January 13, 1934 — July 17, 2005

Anyone that was fortunate enough to have Jerry Watson in their life knew he was a blessing from God. He was always smiling, forgiving, loving, kind, generous and a true Christian. He enjoyed a close relationship with God. When he passed away Sunday July 17, 2005, there was no doubt that Jerry went “Home” to be with his Savior. I met Jerry in Nov. 1999 and fell in love with this wonderful man almost immediately. I had no idea how my life was about to change. He was a miracle from God to me and I am sure he was to all the family and his friends. What I had always considered happiness couldn’t even compare with the joy of being loved by Jerry and loving him. We were married Nov. 4, 2000. Jerry joined the USN right out of high school and served his tour of duty aboard the USS Currituck. He worked for the Colonial Bread Company in Indianapolis for 25 plus years and then owned and operated the Petroleum Service Group until he retired in 1998. He was an avid model railroader, and a charter member of CINtrak, a club that runs “N” gauge trains. His trains were his pride and joy and he loved the club. Jerry loved children, and adored his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. Most of the little ones called him Papaw. When we married, my children immediately loved him and considered him their father. He has 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Two were born after he passed. One, a girl named Jazmine Loren was named so that her initials were the same as his, J.L. Jerry was loved by everyone and I am sure he was welcomed into Heaven with open arms. It rained the entire time Jerry was in a coma, over 20 hours. The angels in heaven were crying with happiness because they were welcoming another angel home, my husband Jerry. He was surrounded by the people that truly loved him when he entered into heaven. Myself, Don, Shelley, Robin, Carl, Lynn, Chris, Mary Ann, Emily, Michael, Misty, Angel, Joshua and Miranda, who held her grandpa’s hand during the final prayer circle, while he left this earth for heaven. His grandson Matthew, had called on the phone and we held it to his grandpa’s ear while Matt told his grandpa he loved him and said good-bye to him. Another angel had left this earth when he passed.
