Grandpa, I'll Miss YouFalling asleep upon his lap,The perfect place for a midday nap.We had special games we played together,I always thought we'd play forever.We had nicknames for one another,He even helped me pick on my lil' brother.When I held his hand, I felt how much he cared.I always felt that we were pretty well paired.We would sarcastically banter and joke around.We could communicate without making a sound.I loved to hear his stories about so many years before,He talked about the places he had been stationed in the war.He had seen so many places and done so much,He met so many people throughout his work and such.His memories were immeasurable and he rarely had a picture to show,The pictures that were in his head must have been vivid though.When he talked about these places as far away as they seemed,His eyes would light up and his face really beamed,So many things to remember all the things he ever said.My heart believes that he is home waiting for me to visit,My mind knows the truth that really this is it?I have a few days then his face I'll never see,He will live only in pictures and in my memory.I am not ready to let go there is still so much to share.My wedding and college graduation I want him to be there.I know he'll be watching over me, I know without a doubt.But still part of me wants him to reach his hand out.Our love I'll cherish more than a diamond or pearl,Because I will always be my Grandpa's Girl.With Love,Kira
