He enjoyed open wheel racing, country music and computers. After serving in World War 2, Howard worked as a janitor at Indiana Bell and worked his way up to supervisor in his 35 years, Upon his retirement from Indiana Bell, Howard was asked by IUPUI to work for them setting up their tele-communications department. He loved working with computers and could often be seen reading a technical manual.He enjoyed spending time in Tennessee at Dollywood so he and his wife Betty could enjoy all the country music playing there. He also loved attending the Indy 500 race and qualifications. Each weekend in May, rain or shine Howard could be found at the track enjoying his favorite racecar drivers.But first and foremost Howard loved his family especially his wife Betty who he met at a restaurant in Frankfort, Indiana. They married and enjoyed 54 wonderful years together.He taught his children patience, determination but most of all how to love. He was generous with his time and never failed to help any of them when they needed him.
