Helen E. Woods

Helen E. Woods Helen was born June 2, 1916 to the parents of Andrew and Mary Kelley in Lexington, KY. Both preceded her in death. Helen completed her journey to be a good and faithful servant to Jesus Christ on April 21, 2004. She graduated from Dunbar High School, Lexington, KY and attended Kentucky State College, Frankfort, KY for three years. She was employed at Fort Benjamin Harrison for 30 years, and retired in 1982. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Henry Smith, Sr. and three brothers, Henry, Jr. and LeRoy V. Smith, and Irvin Kelley. She leaves to mourn two sons, Ralph (Kathleen) Woods, Indianapolis and Melvin (Elnora) Woods, Granite Bay, CA; one sister, Margaret Coryell, Lexington, KY; two sisters-in-law, Mary Smith, Frankfort, KY and Lula Mae Handy, Shelbyville; five grandchildren: David (India), Stephen (Pamela) and Larry (Robyn) Woods, Indianapolis, IN; Gregory (Lisa) Woods and Alyssa (Brad) Qualls of Sacramento, CA. Helen had 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thur., April 29, with service starting at 1 p.m. at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Washington Park North, (317)251-5959), 2706 Kessler Blvd. West Drive, Indianapolis.
