Becky wrote the following tribute to her Uncle Eddie. It sums him up perfectly. My Dearest Uncle Eddie,Today is a celebration as Father's Day. So, I am sending this note to wish you the best one yet.I want you know how much I love you and what you have meant to me as the years have gone by. No one could have had a better father that you have been to all of us. You neglected nothing in teaching us what we needed to know to get through life. You set before us the best example we could have as to how we should live our lives. My memories and those of all my brothers and sister are a joy. Thank you for those. I will never forget times with you at church, camps, reunions and other activities you always made sure we could attend. You gave of your time when I know there were other things you might have wanted to be doing.I know I do not say these things enough but:Thanks for rides to Sunday school. Thanks for weekend trips to Tennessee and camps. Thanks for evenings at the park, playing ball. Thanks for drives in the country. Thanks for days and evenings spent tending a garden so we had food. Thanks for teaching me to drive. Thanks for teaching that a good days work never hurts anyone. Thanks for loving me. I know that must have been hard at times. Thanks for teaching me right from wrong. Thanks for teaching me how to love others. Thanks for teaching me to love and rely on God.Thanks for teaching me to love and rely on God.Thanks for not saying I told you so when I made bad choices. Thanks for being someone I want to be like, loving, caring and giving. Thanks for show me how God wants me to be.I am sure there are many things not mentioned in this short letter so, "thank you" for all of them.I love you.Your niece,BeckyHAPPY FATHER'S DAYTODAY AND FOR THE MANY MORE TO COME.
