Donald received the 1st Simeon Award given in Indiana. Donald was in the Air Force for three years. He was stationed at John Payne Air Force Base in Egypt. After returning home he met Onolee who became his wife in 1946. He became part owner of Wallace Dry Goods Store in Forestville, New York. In the fall of 1946 Donald and Onolee went to Seminary at Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, NY. He was president of his senior class in 1950. After graduation he became Pastor at Bunnhill Community Church. In 1952 the whole family moved to Jermyn, PA where he was pastor of a church there. In 1954 Donald and his family moved to Holland, NY where he spent 4 + years as a pastor. 1958 the family moved to Beech Grove, Indiana where they spent 7 + enjoyable years in the 1st Baptist Church. The church sent Donald and his wife to Europe for three weeks for conferences. Donald was able to spend the first week in Scotland with his relatives. In 1970 they went to Calvary Baptist Church in Plainfield, Indiana where he was pastor for 17 years. Afterwards he became associate Pastor of University Heights Baptist Church in Indianapolis. While there he led a group to Argentina for mission work. He was on the board of the Baptist Children's Home and Indiana Camp Association retiring in 1998.
