Bernice Ann Botscheller

Bernice Lyons Botscheller was born on August 12, 1917. Bernice was one of six children born to Ralph and Dessie Lyons Bernice graduated from Center Grove High School in 1935. Bernice met Gus Botscheller shortly after at Progess Laundry. They married on July 3, 1937 in Greenfield, Indiana. Before they knew it they were giving birth to a son, Jerry then two years later a daughter, Carolyn, Their little family was growing fast with six grandchildren. Cindy, Chris, Terese, Pat, Evan and Tracy. Then again with twelve great grandchildren. Mom loved to be around the water. In the early 50's they would travel to Dale Hollow Lake, then the Ohio Rover in the late 60's. Friends would join them to rent a cabin or houseboat or maybe just camp. Everyone would fish, ski, swim and drink all in good fun. There were many nights around the campfire telling stories. In the early 80's they decided they would retire on Dale Hollow Lake. So they bought a houseboat, there they would go on evening boat rides or just sit on the back of the boat and watch many beautiful sunsets together. And of course fish. Mom was married to Dad for 65 wonderful years, before she passed away on March 28, 2003 at the age of 85 years. Her love for Dad was something that was so rare and few people find. Mom truly loved us all. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to us all. We all will miss her dearly.
