Birth Date: 10/8/1940
Death Date: 9/26/1999
Memorial Park Cemetery
Section 8, Lot 338, Grave 3

William (Bill) A. Goodwin was born in Indianapolis on October 8, 1940. He grew up in Madison, IN on a farm with his grandparents, John and Essie Duke. He had a twin brother Wilbur James Goodwin and a sister Barbara Goodwin. After living several years in Madison, IN the family moved to Indianapolis, where Bill attended School #46 and graduated from Warren Central High School. He then became a firefighter with the Warren Township Fire Department. He retired after 28 years of service. During his time as a firefighter he received several awards. In 1988 he was honored as "Fireman of the Year." Bill was a friend to everyone he met, especially if you were a fellow firefighter. He will be missed by all that knew him, especially his family. We are sure Bill is now in heaven putting out fires and helping all those who need it. Bill and Georgia were very special in a lot of people's lives. Georgia never had children of her own, but she was a mom to all children; they loved her and Bill. Bill was the jokester. He always had a joke or tricks to pull on you. Our lives are not as full without them here with us, but they are with us in spirit. They both enjoyed life to it's fullest. If tears and memories could make a path to heaven, I would walk up to heaven and bring you both back home. We miss you Bill and Georgia. Barbara, Will, Shirley and Family.
