Herta Clara Külnel Duncan was the eldest of four children born to Fritz and Clara Külnel in Germany on June 11, 1922. Sisters, Dora, Gretel, and brother Willy followed. After the war, Herta came to America where she proudly became a citizen of the United States in 1948. She also began working for the RCA Corporation in Indianapolis, Indiana, retiring as an Inspector Supervisor in 1982 after thirty-four years of service.
On October 25, 1969, Herta married Homer Duncan and increased her family by his four grown children. In 1987, Herta and Homer moved to Cumberland, Indiana where she resided until her death. Herta loved her home and everything about being a wife and a homemaker. She loved working in the yard and caring for her flowers. She was very talented in so many ways from her beautiful knitting and crocheting to her outstanding cooking. Herta took great pride in everything she did, especially her home. Above all else Herta was a good and kind person who was loved by everyone she met. She loved going to The New Apostolic Church where she had been a member for twenty years. Herta now walks with God in Heaven.
Sadly missed, by her husband Homer and everyone she knew. |
