Penni was an exceptional young lady who was wise beyond her years. Diagnosed with a serious, inoperable lung/heart disease at the age of eight, she was expected to live about five years. However Penni lived almost twelve years, due greatly to her determination. Her pediatric cardiologist encouraged us to treat her as normal as possible. He said, "don't make an invalid of her", we didn't and she didn't, as she later self-diagnosed her condition for a High School English paper. She was talented in art & music. She would have played her cello in her second concert with the Indianapolis Philharmonic Orchestra the day of her memorial service. She made her funeral arrangements to her mother three weeks before she died and she worked the day she died. She was a wonderful daughter, sister and unknown aunt to her nephews & nieces that have followed. |
