Velma was the type of church going lady that was so very easy to get along with. She always had a smile and kind word for her family and friends. She enjoyed quilting, going for walks and was a great "old fashion" cook. Her specialty was cakes and cobblers, all made form scratch. She loved to travel. It didn't matter if it was for a short or long distance, she was always ready to go. Mom/Granny is loved and missed by her family. She was married to Johnnie Hughes in November of 1927 in the state of Tennessee. He died in the early 1970's.Great Grandchildren: Sean J., Tom J., Ryan J. Gutherie, Amanda M., Harlan T.
