At the age of 15 yrs. Bessie went to work for the National Cushion Spring Co. and was employed there for 31 yrs. retiring in 1960.
She was a long standing active member of the Woodside United Methodist Church. Attending church regularly and participation in the care and maintenance of the church by paging tithes and giving offerings.
She loved her family and was especially proud of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed traveling and visited her daughter in California on several occasions. Bessie's greatest joy came when the family was all together in one place on Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays.
She loved life and was always busy working, helping others and giving of herself in general.
Bessie may not leave a great mark on this world of her passing this way, but to her brothers, sisters, children and grandchildren she will be missed very much. Bessie has left us with a treasure house of fond memories. |
