| Valentina Bartolini Helvey was born in Italy. She was employed at L.S. Ayres as a key punch operator for 22 years, retiring in March of 1986. Her husband, Robert M. Helvey was a graduate of Logansport High School, IN, in 1939. He was employed at R.B.M. Mfg. Co. of Logansport; Kings bury Ordinance Plant, Elkhart, IN; Army Air Corp in 1941; attended photo school in Denver, Co. He served in North Africa 1941-1942 as photo lab tech.; Italy until the end of the war. Valentina & Robert met in Florence, Italy in Jan. of 1944 and were married in Florence, Italy in 1945. They had two daughters, Maria Teresa born in 1946 and Patricia Ann born in 1952. They have one grandson , Frank born in 1978 to Patricia. Valentina is very loved and deeply missed by her family and friends. |

Robert's mother & father on his 89th birthday, taken in Logansport, IN. He died six days later. Robert's mother died about one year later. Both are buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport, IN.

Rev. David Smith performed our wedding ceremony in Florence, Italy. Valentina's sister, Giglumina was maid of honor, and Tony Procopio was best man. Most of Valentina's family & friends were there.

Maria Teresa graduated Northwest High School, Indianapolis, IN in 1964. Maria has been employed at National Bank for 28 yrs.

Patricia graduated Northwest High School, Indianapolis, IN in June of 1968. She attended Indiana University, Bloomington. Patricia is a teacher at Pike Township School.

Valentina's grandson, Frank graduated from Eagle Union High School, Zionsville, IN, in June of 1996. Frank attends Indiana University in Indianapolis, and works at Dow Chemical part-time.

This was taken in the gardens of Pilti Palace in Florence, Italy, August of 1968 while on vacation to visit Valentina's family. We made three trips to Italy during our 52 yr. marriage. A good time was had by all.

Valentina, Robert & grandson, Frank taken at Treasure Island near Tampa, Florida while on vacation in August of 1993. We made many trips to Florida and enjoyed them all.
