Carlie and Major were married 60 years. Carlie was a coal miner for 20 years. Onetime he broke his leg and would have catch a coal truck traveling for 10 miles and then walk on crutches to the mouth of the coal mine. He would then ride a coal car 3 miles underground, crawl and load coal all day until his leg was healed.Carlie was buried 64 years to the day that he first met Major. They raised 5 children, 4 boys and a girl. |
