| Don was born in Indianapolis. He grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Broad Ripple High School. After a tour with the U.S. Marine Corp, he returned to Indianapolis and worked with Haag Drug Company for 20 years. He then went into plumbing and started his own plumbing company in 1980. He retired in January, 1999. Don met Carolyn Summers in 1975 and they were married at Epworth United Methodist Church in 1979. Don enjoyed model railroading and has spent many hours setting up displays of multiple trains and tracks and taught his three-year-old grandson, Carter Hess, to become a train buff also. |
