Jack was born April 2, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Julius and Elizabeth Gagyi. He was their first son following the birth of sisters, Marion and Nancy. Jack attended Park Manor Elementary School, Tilden Technical High School and Illinois Institute of Technology. He was drafted into the Army in November 1951, served during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged in November 1953. Jack married his high school sweetheart, Jean Sehring on November 28, 1953 at Salem E & R Church. A devoted husband, father to John and Karen and grandfather to Steven and Chris Gagyi and Zachary and Laura Parker. Jack and Jean were married 52 years. Jack's career included customer service with IBM Corp., sales and marketing with Motorola and hotel management with LaQuinta Motor Inns. A kind and generous man he could always be counted on whatever the need. He enjoyed his many friends and was very proud of his four grandchildren. He was President of the Glenwod Little League and Vice President of the Glenwood Lions Club in Glenwood, Illinois. |
