Gloria M. Fish, age 66, left her body to God’s Earth and ascended to the spirit realm from her home on Tuesday March 25, 2008 following a courageous four and a half year battle with colon cancer.

She was born April 8, 1941, in Indianapolis Indiana, Marion County, to the late Chester(Chet)Sr. and Francis(Frannie) Smith. She attended Wood High School. While she enjoyed her career as a housewife/domestic engineer, she occasionally took up part-time employment and most enjoyed her experience at Eli Lilly’s in the food services division. On July 16, 1960, she was united in marriage to James(Jim) Fish and to that union were born three children.

Gloria is survived by her husband, James(Jim)Sr., her son and his wife, James(Jim) Jr. and Johnda; her daughter Juanita(Elaine), and son Jeffrey(Jeff); five grandchildren, James(Jim) III, Corey, Ashely, Lexie, and Jasmine; two sisters, Barbara(Barb) Stroud and Sharon McKinney; two brothers John and Chester(Chet) Jr. Gloria is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other wonderful relatives and many dear friends. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Chet & Frannie and her great granddaughter Aurora.

Services for Gloria will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, at Flanner & Buchanan Floral Park Funeral Center 425 N. Holt Rd. The Rev. John Ray, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will be in The Court Of Roses Mausoleum of Floral Park Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Flanner & Buchannan Funeral Center, on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A reception will be held following services Saturday at the American Legion Post 64 at 601 S. Holt Road, Indianapolis.

Gloria was a member of the American Legion Post 64, Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed time with her friends and taking care of her family, all of whom she will be lovingly missed by.

We would like to thank all of the friends, family, doctors and nurses for their thoughts, prayers, help and support throughout Gloria’s journey over the rainbow.
