Born 06-28-40 to Albert and Lavern, Carol Ann was the first born of five children. When she was 6 years old her family moved to Indianapolis. Childhood was tought for young Carol being a baby of World War II, time were hard and luxuries were unheard of. From a very young age Carol had to grow up quick. Carol's father Albert suffered from alcoholism putting huge strain on her mother trying to raise five children and Carol being the oldest took the role as older sister and protector of her four younger siblings. This took an enormous toll on her education as it was extremely hard to concentrate at school when she was worrying about things at home, but by Mother, as always persevered. In Carol's teens she met her first husband William Taulman and soon gave birth to her first child Cheryl Faye. Two other children were born by Carol and William Taulman. The first son being named after his father William and the second was named Jeffrey.
Carol and bill's marriage lasted until the late 60s and by 1969 Carol met her 2nd and final husband Marshall Frazier and on January 8, 1971 on Elvis Presley's birthday (who Carol was a big fan of) gave birth to a baby boy who Carol named Tony Curtis after the actor. After the fourth child Carol and Marshall thought they had plenty enough to take care of. Carol was extremely proud of all her children. Carol and Marshall bought a house in Beech Grove, Cheryl was married and already had a child of her own, Bill her 2nd born joined the Navy and Carol took a job at St. Francis hospital in housekeeping where she worked for 10 long years. The work was hard and she would often come home with a sore back and be extremely exhausted. I remember many times she would come home from work and go straight to bed, but yet she always had a smile to share and kept a very positive attitude. Food was always on the table and there was always a roof over our heads. Mom was a somewhat shy and quiet person but underneath the child like exterior was a tough woman who endure so much and never gave up when other people would have long lost hope.
Even without even finishing high school Mom could manage money better than some of the richest men and women in the world, but Mom's most wonderful trait was her ability to forgive and never judge. She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally and equally and never held a grudge against anyone. Mom was also a person who was secure enough to laugh at herself. Even in her final days she never lost her sense of humor. My mother was the one person I knew who could fart, laugh, and cough all at the same time, and then laugh about it even more.
After all her kids were grown and moved out on their own she adopted her beloved Miniature Pincher who she lovingly name Rufus. She cared for Rufus as if he was her own child and when he was diagnosed with Diabetes Mother puntually gave him insulin shots twice a day by her self. Carol Ann Frazier, precious mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. You gave so much love, and although you might be gone in the physical sense, I know you are looking down at all of us from heaven. You will never be forgotten.
I love you,
Tony
