Mom and Dad
Mom and dad so many images come to mind
Whenever we speak your name;
It seems without you in our life
Things have never been the same.
What happened to those lazy days
When we were just children;
When our life was consumed in you
In your love, and in your smiles.
What has happened to all those times
When we always looked to you;
No matter what happened in our life
You could make our gray skies blue.
Some days we would hear your voices
And turn to see your faces;
Yet in our turning it seems
The sound has been erased.
Who will we turn to for answers
When life does not make sense;
Who will be there to hold us close
When the pieces just don’t fit.
Oh, Mom and Dad, if we could turn back time
And once more hear your voices;
We would tell you that out of all the mom and dads
You would still be our choices.
Please always know we love you
And no one can take your place;
Years may come and go
But your memory will never be erased.
Today, Jesus, as You are listening
In your home above;
Would you go and find our mom and dad
And give them all our love.
