A resident of Brownsburg passed away Friday, April 21, 2006 at the age of 73 years. He was borth February 10, 1933 in Bear Wallow, Virginia to Henry Columbus Jewell and Bertha Mae Pruitt Jewell. He drove a truck for many years, enjoyed gardening and woodworking and was a veteran of the United States Army. In loving memory Joseph is cherished by his wife, Linda Lou Shepherd Jewell; sons, Joseph (Portia) Jewell, Jr., David (Candi) Jewell, Earl (Cheryl) Jewell, Marshall (Tracy) Shepherd and Tyrone (Reba) Shepherd; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brothers Curtis (Jerri) Jewell and Harold (Pat) Jewell; sisters Daisy Walters, Beulah Hitch, Mary York and Gay (Jim) Smith.
