Clayton was a very special man. His smile, laugh and sense of humor brought joy to everyone who knew him. He married Maureen twenty-three years ago (1983), who was his soul mate and love of his life. He was a dedicated family man who loved his two children, Lindsey and Alex, deeply. Being a grandfather for Lindsey's two young boys brought a paternal fulfillment only a grandpa would understand. Alex will be entering college this fall, and Clayton will be keeping a very watchful eye on his son he loves so much.

Clayton was an avid sports fan. Old school Hoosier basketball, Colts and Pacers were some of his favorites. He bowled as a lefty, and entered tournaments as an adult, getting close to a perfect game many times. Catching a two-pound Crappie brought a big smile to his face, much bigger than Maureen's - who didn't share his enthusiasm when the fish temporarily found it's way to the living room wall! Clayton enjoyed coaching football and basketball over the years, as working with children became a rewarding experience. He made many friends from coaching.

Professionally, Clayton was involved in the printing industry his entire adult life. Entering the industry a pressman, he worked his way into, and through the Service Department of AB Dick Company, eventually landing in Sales. Success had no ceiling for Clayton, as he began climbing their corporate ladder. His career path moved from Sales Manager to Branch Managers, covering states including: Ohio, Texas, Georgia, Indiana and Illinois. Being named National Sales Manager at AB Dick Corporate office in Chicago was one of the many professional highlights in his amazing success story. After years of traveling and relocating, Clayton was especially excited to return to his roots here in Indy. He told Maureen that Indianapolis would be a good city for Alex and the family. He never did look back. Alex is set to graduate from Bishop Chatard High School next month and was accepted to attend Holy Cross College this fall. As always, Dad will be watching from Heaven.

Clayton was loved by many, and had a unique way of touching lives. Most people who knew Clayton understood he was special, and always enjoyed his company. His moral compass, honesty and faith combined to create the individual that we so dearly miss daily. The most comforting thought that can be found in Clayton's absence is that God called him home for a reason. He needed more like him in Heaven!
