Audre Mae Willis Fall

Floral Park Cemetery
Garden of Hymns, Lot 299, Grave 2

Audre was born on May 15, 1918 to Gladys Mae Shaw and William Robert Willis. Audre lived most of her life in Indianapolis except for a short period of time when she worked at Wright Patterson Field in Dayton, Ohio.

Audre graduated from Ben David High School at the age of 16. She played girls basketball for Ben Davis and the WM H. Block Company. She could shoot a deadeye basketball (shooting the ball backwards without looking and hitting the basket). She was ambidextrous being able to play either right or left-handed. She sang on the radio during her teenage years and did Dance Marathons at Butler University.

She had two siblings her brother Blufred William Willis who was two years older than Audre and sister Betty Jean Willis Altopp who was ten years younger than her.

Lawrence Fall was the Love of her life and they were married forty-eight years. They had no children, but were very devoted to their two nieces and nephews. Rita Ann Willis Bennett, Bonnie Jean Willis Western, Ricky Dale Altopp and Ronnie Lee Altopp.

Audre worked twenty-seven years for the Department of Natural Resources Division of Oil and Gas.

Audre and Larry loved to travel, they took trips to Washington DC, Niagara Falls, Florida, Arizona, Texas, etc.

Audre was very devoted to the Republican Party. She was a very big hearted individual and quite spunky. Audre was baptized on March 31, 1991 at the Memorial Baptist Church on the west side of Indianapolis and she died on March 31, 2003. She lived at 1130 North Goodlet Street from 1952 until 2003 where she died from a heart attack.
