Moses Alonzo Banks, Jr., was born to Mary Virginia Jackson Banks and Moses Alonzo Banks, Sr., in Jackson, Mississippi, on February 2, 1913.In 1920, Moses moved to Indianapolis, Indiana with his family, where he received his education at Crispus Attucks High School and grew to young manhood.He was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Joyce L. Banks in 1932, This union was blessed with the birth if two sons, Harold L. Banks, Sr. and Fredrick L. Banks.Moses was baptized into the body of Christ very early in life, He joined Kingsley Terrace Church of Christ, and remained a loyal dedicated member until he was called home. He enlisted in the United States Army on May 27, 1942. He served his country well, as he fought in World War 2 and came home ho his family and friends a hero. Moses worked as a contractor and builder. He retired and went on to work as Head Custodian for Holy Angels Catholic Church and School. He retired from there and went on to work for Channel 13 Television Station at the age of 38. He was employed until health reasons forced him to leave. He remained active all of his life and he loved to dress in fashionable clothes, and travel around the world. He loved participating in fashion shows and he loved traveling with Edna Martin Senior Program. He was also a member of the Kingsley Terrace Church and Christ Family Chorus, where enjoyed traveling to regional events to sing and a member of the Edna Martin Christian Center Program, where he enjoyed playing bingo on Thursday afternoons and taking trips with other seniors.
