| Cathy, known affectionately as Ma, is loved and missed by all those who knew her. She is a tribute in the fight against cancer. For a year and a half she endured the chemotherapy, its side effects, along with the numerous drugs to counter its side effects. If you asked her how she was, she would tell you, I'm doing just fine. Throughout the whole ordeal, she continued working at Gasoline Equipment, maintaining a positive attitude, and never gave up her fight. Ma was an accomplished bowler, she carried a 180 average and regularly had high games, or high series. However, Cathy acquired a love for outdoor activities and began backpacking, camping, scuba diving, hunting and fishing. She learned to scuba dive, and dove in Florida, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands and quarries in Indiana. Ma has been canoeing in the boundary waters wilderness area, one of the last remote wilderness areas left in the United States for canoeing and camping. In 1995, she became involved in deer hunting, and successfully bagged and processed her first deer in 1996. Ma loved to fish, she was an accomplished fly tier and angler. She fished in Canada on two remote fly-in trips for Northern Pike, Trout and Walleye. These are only a few of her accomplishments, she was capable of anything she put her mind to and kept a positive attitude for others to follow. |
