Donald Harold Morelock was born on September 23, 1920 in Kempton, Indiana. He was the seventh child of Jonathan and Emma Morelock.

Donald was born with a cleft palate and hair lip. An aunt helped care for him, and fed him with an eyedropper. He spent the first five years of his life in and in out of the Riley Hospital for Children. The Tipton County Red Cross helped Donald's family get help for him at Riley Children's Hospital. Donald was the first child from Tipton County to get help at Riley Children's Hospital.

Donald graduated from high school in 1939, and came to work in Indianapolis in 1940. About 1942, Donald, with a friend's help, began traveling to St. Louis, Missouri to have several major surgeries to correct his cleft palate and hair lip. Donald traveled to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis by train for about one year to complete his reconstructive surgeries. After many surgeries, Donald needed dental work. After a lot of trials and errors, he was eventually able to get dentures.

During the time Donald was traveling to Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, he was working two or three jobs in Indianapolis. About the same time, he began working at the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company in Indianapolis where he learned the glass business. Donald worked for the Pittsburg Plate Glass Company from 1942 to 1950.

In March of 1946, he met Marjorie Rarey. Marjorie Alice Rarey was born July 15, 1919 to Arthur and Hazel Miller Rarey of Windfall, Indiana. Marjorie graduated from high school in 1938. She came to Indianapolis in 1941 and attended the Central Beauty College. Marjorie became a licensed beautician, and purchased the Cameo Beauty Shop in 1943.

Donald and Marjorie were married October 19, 1946. They had four children, three daughters and one son. In the fall of 1950, Donald decided to establish his own glass business, the Glass Service Company at 132 N. Grant St, Indianapolis. In 1960, Donald and Marjorie built a new home and shop for the business at 28th and Arlington Avenue in Indianapolis, in 1962; Donald and Marjorie expanded their glass business to include picture framing. Donald was a good planner, manager, and provider. He was always coming up with new ideas to make improvements. He enjoyed people, and could talk for hours. Donald and Marjorie were successful owners of the Glass Service Company until their retirement on December 1, 1998.

In 1999, they sold their business inventory and in home, and moved to their new home east of Cumberland in Greenfield. Donald was only able to enjoy their new home four years when he became ill and passed away in September of 2003. His wife of almost 57 years, three daughters, one son, six grandchildren, one step-grandson, five great-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandson survive Donald.
