Robert Edward Ehrgott, 81, Carmel, went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2004. He was born on February 3, 1923 in Indianapolis, the son of Theodore and Zelda Ehrgott. He graduated from Howe High School in 1941. Bob was a WWII veteran, who served in the Marines from 1942 - 1946. He was stationed in the South Pacific and was an aerial gunner in an SBD Dive Bomber. Bob married Mary Lou (Graham) Ehrgott in 1946. He was an architect with the firm of Lennox, Matthews, Simmons and Ford from 1953 to 1971 and became Vice-President of the firm before leaving in 1971. In 1972 Bob founded the firm B.A.S.E. Architect, which oversaw the design and construction of many of the public high schools in Central Indiana. He retired from B.A.S.E. in 1981. Bob enjoyed fishing and boating. He was a regular attendee and full time volunteer at East 91st Street Christian Church for over 15 years. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou; three sons Ron Ehrgott (Susan), Doug Ehrgott (Sandy) and Mark Ehrgott (JoAnne) all of Noblesville; two brothers Ted Ehrgott of Kentucky and Donald Ehrgott of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His brother Richard Ehrgott, preceded Bob in death. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 14, 2004 at East 91st St. Christian Church at 10:30 a.m. The visitation will be Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Broad Ripple from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to Jireh Sports.
