Sitting in a window sill
Framed in the afternoon sun.
Looking past all that is visible
Lost in the summer solace of the skies.
Covering me delicately
As once your kisses did!
Thoughts set adrift.
Floating freely among the clouds.
Heart beats in rhythm
To the Cardinal's song.
It is you, My Sweet John,
I seek with my soaring soul.
Hues of brilliance,
Dance through the prism of our love.
Colors once captured.
Now imprisoned beyond my sight.
Liberated
Only in the selflessness of our love
I understand it's freedom
One to behold in the mind, never in this life
Do I dare trust in something unseen
Yet known in my heart?
I feel your breath
As a gentle whisper of your soul
In your love,
I am protected in a fortress.
Our hugs, kisses and gentle touches
Once placed the world on hold.
