Maurice Kyle Cox was born October 22, 1894 to Isaac Newton and Alma Kidnocker in Muncie, Indiana.

He served in the US Navy during WW1, enlisted on December 12, 1917, and then after training in Naval Radio School served aboard the USSZ Finland as a radio operator from September 30, 1918 through December 31, 1918. He completed his service on August 18, 1919.

Soon after, he attended college at Louisville, Kentucky to eventually becoming a bookkeeper.

He married Dorothy Mildred Bartle and together reared three boys, Melvin Eugene, Lawrence Ronald and Norman Wilbur.

During the late 20's and early 30's, he had various jobs one of which was hauling coal. Later he starting working for Lee Frazier in Indianapolis, at first they would buy motor oil wholesale and repackage it in quarts, gallons and five-gallon cans.Eventually they saw a need to bring farmers useful items to local auction barns all over Indiana and Ohio. There, the Auctioneer would sell items from their trucks such as hammer, axe, and pick handles. Brooms, rope, tarpaulins and eventually saddles, etc, needed for about everything on a farm. He eventually worked for many years as a bookkeeper for various employers.

His last several years of his life was spent living on an old excursion boat moored on Lake Union in Seattle, Washington.

He had 15 grandchildren when he passed away on October 30, 1972.
