Robert Vore Jones 92, Indianapolis, died May 12, 2004. Mr. Jones was the former owner of Affiliated Theatres and Associated Advertising of Indianapolis. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post No. 3 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Jones was a life member of the Ad Club of Indianapolis, The Foundation of the Motion Picture Pioneers, and the Theatre Owners of Indiana. He had been active as a volunteer for the Walther Cancer Foundation and a Past President of the Winona Hospital Auxiliary, as well as the Variety Club of Indiana. In recent years, he had devoted most of his volunteer activities to the Executive Service Corps as a mentor for students in the Mentorship Program. He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder and former Deacon. In addition, Mr. Jones was a member of a Masonic Lodge in St. Louis and a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. He was Scholarship Chairman for the George Washington High School Fifty Year Club which had sponsored students with scholarships since 1984. He attended Butler University and Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. during World War II while assigned briefly to the Pentagon for Procurement and Contract Termination courses. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Wicke. Survivors include his wife of more than 60 years, Doris S. 'Scottie' Jones; daughter, H. Lynn Farmer; six grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Friends may greet the family on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. in Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the mortuary. Entombment will follow in Washington Park North Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Executive Service Corps, Walther Cancer Foundation, Variety Club of Indiana, or your favorite charity.
