Vergil N. Vernon, 85, Ocala, FL, formerly of Indianapolis, died January 21, 2004. He retired from UniRoyal in 1976, and was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pearl (Harrison) Vernon; children George Vernon, Charlotte Baird, Jerry Vernon, Donna Brummett and Linda VanDover; brother Sewell Vernon; sister Sherry Headden; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Mon. Jan. 26 at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center - Washington Park East, with calling on Sun., Jan. 25 evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral center.
