Alvin was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. He lived at home with his Mommy and Daddy his entire life. He was a very special man that was loved deeply by his parents, three sisters and three brothers. Alvin was never thought of as being mentally handicapped. Our family and friends treated Alvin as an equal. Where we went, he went. When we played, he played. Everyone treated Bubby as a best friend. Mommy taught and worked with Alvin with so much love and tenderness. Alvin was so happy and treasures by anyone that met him. He taught all of us so much! He loved life and gave love and trust unconditionally. He worried about all of us when we were ill or away for an awhile. When he needed a hug or when we were sad, Deannie knew when to give us a special smile, or to tease with us until we would laugh. They say, I Love You and then we would be just fine. He lit up plenty of lives with his gifts of love and caring. Alvin loved and received more love than anyone we ever knew. He loved animals and took care of all his possessions with love and tenderness. He never hurt or mistreated anything or anyone! Our brother loved to be outdoors. He liked to go camping, fishing and boating. Alvin loved the vacations Mommy and Daddy took him on. Staying in the big house (motel). He loved flying on the airplane. He liked to have Pizza parties and going to the China Buffet. He liked to go shoppy (shopping). He loved going on rides with his Daddy and Mommy. Alvin loved going out for the day with is sister, Linda and her friend. They would go out for the day and driving around and eating out and just laugh with him. He would pick out vegetables and pastries to take home to go to the family cookouts. He loved to sit on the porch and rock and take in the sounds and sights. He loved al his family, everything and everyone. He loved being with all of us. When we would go to mom and dads for the day we all had a good time, but when Bubby became tired he would tell us to go home. Then he would smile and, 'I Love You'.When his Daddy became ill, he would watch over him. When Daddy needed help he would shout out to call 911. He found Daddy's cane so many times. He did a little dance with his cane that will always be remembered. Alvin Dean loved all of his family and was very happy and healthy up to the last four months of his life.He was able to go see his brother, Tom Boy in Iowa the week before he became house bound. Linda and I took him and so much fun. We stayed in the big house, shopped, ate out and played music all the way during the trip. He was so happy to go, but also Happy to get home! His life was so full and rich right up to the end. He died at home with all of us right beside him. We thank God that we had the time we did with Alvin. That he went to Heaven so peacefully and did not suffer. He taught us plenty that day he passed. We will always remember our brother with love and respect!I picture Alvin in a rocking chair surrounded by his loved ones, singing and smiling. As Alvin would tell Beasley and Miss Marie 'Deanies Home'. We love you and miss you!
