Alvin Monroe Ruble was born in Waynesville, Illinois. When he was around seven years old, his family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. Alvin grew up in Indianapolis, and later married. Together for 62 years and 9 months they raised seven children. He was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family was his life and our Father showed it everyday! For 47 years he worked for Reilly Tar Chemicals. Daddy worked hard all of his life providing and caring for his family. The family needs and wants always came first. Everyone depended on him. Pappy never let anyone down! When Pop finally retired he learned to slow down and enjoy his family and home. He liked to work in his yard. For many years he grew his own garden and took great pride in it. He gave the neighbors lots of vegetables and enjoyed the outdoors. He enjoyed the monthly neighborhood parties and going out for an evening of fun. He liked the cookouts and family outings. Daddy enjoyed going on long leisurely rides and taking in the new sites. He even took a couple of well-deserved vacations. He really liked to Euchre with his family, and winning nickels in our card games. Most of all Pappy loved his family around him. He loved to sit on his porch in his rocking chair, talking with is family. Every night Pop would call each family member and tell us good night that he loved us. He will be sadly missed. The memories and love will live forever in our hearts. Our Father was loved and respected by al that knew him. He touched so many lives and will always be with us! Good night Pop, we love you! |
