Death Date: 7/10/1985
Washington Park East Cemetery
Three Faiths, Lot 89D, Grave 3

Theodore Rebennack, Jr. born October 14, 1925 in Indianapolis, Indiana. When he was 6 years old, his mother died of meningitis. His father remarried twice, so his German Aunts Mary and Lenchen took him and his 4-year-old brother Bob to raise. When he was 17 years old he joined the US Navy. In October 1942 he was sent to Brisbane, Australia with PBY FAW10 Search and Rescue. In 1946 Ted returned home to live with aunt Lenchen and Uncle Ernest Blume. He met Mildred J. Young at Stewart Warner Co. in Indianapolis. They took cabs and buses on dates downtown. No cars were made during World War 2. They were married in 1946 and had five children Richard, Carol, Dale, Roger and Russell. One baby boy lived 3 hours. Ted also worked at Chevrolet and for 29 years was a Roberts Milkman. Ted loved his customers and they loved him. He worked long hours and holidays. We took our children to all the state parks on his vacations. That's all we could afford. Ted loved country music. Fourteen was his favorite number. He is on the WW2 Memorial in Washington D.C. and the Veterans Project. He was honest, hardworking and had a great personality and smile.

Ted left church with an Aunt and joined the Navy and served from 1942-1946. He loved Australia and was a Tail Gunner. He had an ocean crash, but made it ok. He came back to Jacksonville, Florida and then home to Indiana.

We married at Woodside Methodist Church, Indianappolis on November 23, 1946. We didn't have an automobile, money, or honeymoon. We had a sleeping room. We went back to work at Stewart Warners on Monday.
