Mary Anna Summers was born March 5, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas. She grew up in Iowa with her brother, Butch. She married Joseph John Summers Jr. and moved to Indiana where she raised her three sons, Lonnie, Larry and Jay. Mary worked most of her life in the restaurant business. She was a waitress most of the time, but she occasionally worked as a cook as well. She spent her free time collecting pigs and earrings and doing embroidery work. Mary was a very generous, good-hearted woman; not just to her own family, but also to everyone she knew. Her co-workers often called her mom as well. She was always full of life and always had a smile on her face, even when she didn't feel well. She liked to wear bright colors and always had earrings to match. Mary died July 21, 2003 at the age of 59. She was survived by her mother Evelyn Negley, brother Butch Helton, sons, Jay Summers, Lonnie and Larry Helton, grandchildren, Leonna, Lonnie. Larry and Raymond Helton, and great grandchildren, Lonnie Helton III and Marissa Helton. Mary earned a very special place in heaven and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. |
